Choate Corporate Office

Choate Construction has spent years
in the Charlotte market growing relationships and keeping them with the work they do. With their business practice being strong, their growth has been steady and strong as well. In 2006, they were one of the top contractors in the region. With more growth expected, the time to move had come. Among the many architects that Choate works with on a daily basis, Redline was fortunate enough to be chosen to design their new corporate headquarters. Choate wanted their space to reflect current and future building technologies as well as the many materials they work with in the field. From warm wood panels to exposed concrete walls, and from rough, corrugated metal panels to highly detailed stainless steel meshes, Choate and Redline utilized typical building materials in new and unique methods to reflects the company's attention to detail through a simplicity and clarity that is also reflective of Choate's approach to business.
A large, elliptical conference room is the real center piece of this space with a metal and glass screen wall separating it from the lobby and waiting area for privacy, while still allowing light to filter through. Zones were established throughout the plan for each of the different "teams" Choate has established. A large training room and break-out space anchor the opposite ends of the floor plate from the conference room, which has 2 large high-speed coiling aluminum overhead doors allowing the training room to completely open into the break room for larger functions. The break room is located on an exterior glass wall for maximum daylight and view. Choate and Redline worked in a collaborative setting to produce this highly efficient and aesthetically pleasing space that will help keep Choate at the top of the marketplace in the Charlotte region.
