Hendrick Automotive Group, in search for land for future market growth, found a 50 acre parcel just north of Charlotte, a perfect location to develop a new multi-line/multi-dealer automall. Hendrick Automotive Group had a vision to locate up to 7 high-line facilities on this site to serve the growing up-scale Huntersville and North Charlotte market. Located near the newly built Northlake Mall and the exclusive Birkdale Village, the traffic generated by nearby amenities will undoubtedly help this automall succeed. HAG then came to REDLINE to make the vision a reality. REDLINE then proposed a masterplan that would put Northlake Auto Plaza on the map of automalls. With a central boulevard lined with modern street lighting, dedicated vehicle display pads, pedestrian links, stone walls and generous landscaping; this Auto Plaza will be unlike any other in the nation. REDLINE's concept to elevate the boulevard slightly over the vehicle display plazas will give the customer excellent views of the displayed inventory while allowing them not to feel like they are on the lot with salesmen. Periodic pedestrian links to the upscale plazas will allow the customer to enter the sales zones when and where they choose. All of these design elements are to give the customer more control over their experience, thus making them feel more inclined to do business with a company that values their experience.
