Blue Harbor Bank

Blue Harbor Bank is a small Charlotte start-up bank focusing on the North Charlotte market. In conjunction with their strategic planning initiative, the bank bought a piece of land in Mooresville, NC to build their first branch and corporate offices upon. The bank initiated a design competition and solicited several architects to design the new Corporate Headquarters and flagship branch bank. Part of the program included speculative office space and possible retail space, if the architect so suggested. Redline was the winner of the competition, beating out other larger firms such as LS3P, Little and others. Redline's design not only submitted the best presentation, but the design that best suited Blue Harbor's brand and business philosophy. We also were the most sensitive to the site and created the most efficient site plan solution, gaining the highest parking counts and the most site amenity space. The solution took advantage of passive solar techniques and was responsive to the environment. Creating outdoor space was also a major design initiative by Redline, helping to reinforce the bank's philosophy of creating "community" and "collaboration". The project is in the planning stages and will most likely be constructed in the year 2010.
