Hendrick motorsports vision was to create a premier training environment for elite athletes on their concord campus. Where once only a single pit crew could train at a time, the new facility now brings all teams together in an immersive, high-performance space that promotes collaboration while also giving fans a firsthand experience. The renovation of the existing pre-engineered building includes various types of program elements connected by a central lobby: an athletic facility with gym equipment, nutrition lounge, barber shop, physical therapy, dry recovery (including infrared therapy beds, hyperbaric chamber, massage beds, and antigravity treadmill), wet hydrotherapy (including a sauna, steam room, and hot/cold plunge pools), employee, coach, and athlete locker rooms, film rooms, in-house laundry, offices, conference rooms, toc (team operations center), conference center that can be split into two spaces with catering and staging support. A fan viewing area that oversees the gym and rockwall connects to a 200' exterior viewing platform that oversees pit crew training practice and doubles as a mechanical platform.
